The Crank Squad was founded in 1999 by N.M.E. and Capital A at the Fairbridge Music Festival. From memory, the name came from a few jokes made in an Illusion-driven hangover like state. While wandering around the Festival, they noticed a band performing in the middle of the food court (is that actually what it's called?) and someone was playing a Hirdy Girdy to which a hungover N.M.E. stated "He's cranking wood!". Laughter ensued along with hours of 'crank' related jokes. From there, the other members joined as they went through N & A's gruelinig initiations that involved video games and drinking copious amounts of alcohol. Now they are all movie stars (See the Fairbridge Project 2!) trying to get to Hollywood.
